I put this web page together for my mom, who, in my very humble opinion, has done something very unique - she's attempted, and succeeded rather well I feel, to bring back to the Native American, something that they considered very precious, and possibly, very sacred - the Palouse - the True Appaloosa - as it was discovered by the Neemepoo so many years ago, and unfortunately, nearly brought to extinction by the white man. However, the white man didn't succeed in this desperate attempt to wipe out an entire species of horse, and for those of us who respect life, in whatever form it may be in, the Palouse is still with us today for our enjoyment. Through the efforts of people like my mother, Marge Sullivan, we are able to enjoy and respect such incredible beauty and grace as is offered in this particular lineage my mother has struggled to achieve for over 30 years to bring back. I hope you enjoy your visit here. If you like our site, please bookmark our page and come back whenever you like, and don't forget to tell others as well.

To all who's hearts jumped at the sight of the Appaloosa, a long time ago I met my first Appaloosa and fell in love. He was the most elegant horse I'd ever seen. And, since I've been horse crazy all my life, I thought my heart would jump out of my throat. I said to myself "...some day, I would like to have an Appaloosa...". Never did I, in my wildest dreams, know I would not only have an Appaloosa, but I would have many, and a very big goal - to bring them back to where they once were: an intelligent, beautiful, strong, and loving animal.
When I began my stroll through history on this little horse, I tried to study, as much as I could, on pedigrees and looked at as many pictures I could find to find what way I wanted to go in my breeding program. After much research, I decided to use the Fourmile, Toby, Apache, Mansfield Comanche, Kans Kans, Simcoe, Red Eagle, and Snowcloud. I concentrated heavily on these breeds. Many go back to the Nez Perce.
Over the years, with trial and error, culling and omitting because it wasn't a good cross, and being my own worst critic, I have almost completed my goal. I think I've had a lot of help from powers far higher than me to keep pushing me to find more and more about these beautiful animals. I am very proud of what I have now. They'll stand their own to any breed, and I consider my gang a breed and not a "color" - for I have Appy-to-Appy and that's how it should be.
Please look, read, and enjoy my beautiful Appaloosas. And, if you're in our neighborhood - come by, talk horses, have a cup of coffee, and meet the love of my life - my beautiful Appaloosas.
